John F. Casey
Chairman

John is chairman and a founding partner of Casey, Quirk & Associates. He has over 45 years of experience advising senior leaders in the investment management industry. John’s work in the late 1980s was the genesis of the work that Casey Quirk continues to do today.

Today, John’s clients are the CEOs and boards of directors of many of the investment management industry’s leading firms. His clients have been firms of all sizes, from start-ups to the largest firms in the industry.

From 1969 through the 1990s, John was one of the principal architects in the creation and development of the investment consulting industry.

In addition to being a co-founder of Rogers, Casey & Barksdale in 1976, he was a founder of investment manager research at Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis (the predecessor firm to Evaluation Associates) and a director and head of manager research at Callan Associates. John served as the long-time chairman of Rogers Casey and was a member of the Barra board of directors until 2001. John received the first McArthur Award from the Investment Management Consultants Association in 2000.

John earned a B.A. at Milton College in Wisconsin.

Kevin p. quirk
Partner

Kevin is a founding partner of Casey, Quirk & Associates. He has over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry and has worked directly with over 150 organizations, including a majority of the industry leaders. Kevin has led assignments in broad business strategy development, investment and distribution platform assessment, M&A advisory, strategic partnership development, and company start-ups. He has experience in all of the major markets, including U.S., U.K., Continental Europe, Japan, Asia, South America, and the Middle East.

Prior to founding Casey Quirk, Kevin was a managing director of Barra Strategic Consulting Group and RogersCasey. He previously worked for Coopers & Lybrand in the management consulting practice and in the mutual fund services group of American Express/The Boston Company.

Kevin graduated with a B.A. in political science from Providence College and received his M.B.A. in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Kevin is a member of the investment committee for Providence College’s endowment.

David j. bauer
Partner

David is a founding partner of Casey, Quirk & Associates. He has been in the investment management industry since 1989. His consulting experience encompasses all major functional areas (business management, investment management, and distribution). His expertise includes organizational strategy and design, business opportunity assessment, and investment and distribution platform assessment. David is a member of the Boston Investment Professionals Advisory Board.

Prior to founding Casey Quirk, David was a director at Barra Strategic Consulting Group, where he worked with investment management clients as a management consultant, and RogersCasey, where he was a pension consultant. He previously worked for Greenwich Associates as the senior research team Leader responsible for delivering investment management industry.

Prior to that, David was an assistant treasurer at Bankers Trust Investment Management, managing short-term fixed income portfolios for clients.

David earned an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and holds a B.A. in economics from Tufts University.

DANIEL CELEGHIN
Partner

Since joining Casey Quirk as an associate in 2002, Daniel has worked on over 100 engagements for asset management businesses covering business management and strategy, distribution strategy and organizational structure, investment quality and benchmarking, product development, and economic alignment restructuring.

Clients have included managers focused on the global institutional, retail, and high-net-worth markets and based in the U.S., Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and the Far East. In addition, Daniel has worked on multiple transactions, both in sourcing and due diligence.

Daniel has focused on alternative investment managers throughout his tenure at Casey Quirk, resulting in the development of Casey Quirk’s proprietary hedge fund and fund of hedge funds benchmarking frameworks, as well as the Casey Quirk fixed income evaluation framework. He has worked closely with the majority of the firm’s fund of hedge funds and hedge fund clients, and was named one of Institutional Investor's 2010 Hedge Fund Rising Stars.

Daniel graduated in 2002 with a B.S. in operations research and industrial engineering from Cornell University.

Grace l. cicero
Partner & Chief Administrative Officer

In her role as partner and chief administrative officer, Grace manages Casey Quirk’s administrative team and coordinates human resource and benefits administration. She is also responsible for proposal and revenue tracking, accounting activities, vendor relationships, and facilities-related issues.

Prior to joining Casey Quirk in 2002, Grace was manager of administration at the Barra Strategic Consulting Group and was accountable for coordinating key recruiting and professional development activities, office management, and overseeing the administrative team. Prior to that, she was program manager for General Electric’s political action committee and was responsible for the solicitation of employee contributions, disbursement of funds to members of Congress, and filing reports to the Federal Election Commission and Secretaries of State.

Grace graduated magna cum laude with an A.S. from Johnson & Wales University. She also attended Fairfield University and concentrated on courses with a political science focus.

Jeb B. Doggett
Partner

Jeb is a founding partner of Casey, Quirk & Associates. He has over 20 years' experience in the investment management industry. Jeb has broad experience advising senior management of asset management firms on business strategy, vision development, distribution strategy, investment process assessments, M&A strategy, and post-merger integration. He has led much of the firm’s work on investment quality and product development, and he heads Performance Intelligence, the firm’s annual asset management business financial benchmarking survey.

Prior to 2002, Jeb was a managing director of the Barra Strategic Consulting Group, where he was responsible for advising asset management firms on investment process quality and business strategy.

Before joining BSCG in 1995, Jeb was a buy side equity research analyst, covering metal companies, at State Street Research & Management Company. He also spent five years as an insurance equity analyst at Alex Brown & Sons, Inc. in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jeb graduated with a B.A. in computer and English from Trinity College. He holds an M.B.A. in finance from Cornell University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Yariv Itah
Partner

Yariv is a partner at Casey, Quirk & Associates. Since joining the firm in 2001, he has worked on over 100 projects for global industry leaders, focused specialist firms, and start-ups in markets around the world. Yariv’s client experience includes growth strategy, economic alignment, distribution and sales, business combinations, capability assessment, and cost control. Yariv has substantial experience with alternative, traditional, dual and multi-affiliate firms and he spearheads research and thought leadership on alignment structures.

Yariv speaks, reads, and writes in four languages and lived, worked, and studied in Israel, Latin America, Africa, and Europe before joining our firm.

Prior to joining Casey Quirk, Yariv was a project manager at the Barra Strategic Consulting Group, where he assisted investment management firms with turnaround situations. He previously worked for Ernst & Young LLP, where he audited and consulted to international conglomerates.

Yariv graduated with a B.A. in economics and accounting from the University of Tel-Aviv, is a Certified Public Accountant, and received his M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.

Ben F. Phillips
Partner

Ben is a partner at Casey, Quirk & Associates. He has nearly 20 years of experience advising asset management firms, financial services companies, and governments worldwide regarding key strategic decisions in the fund management industry. Ben's client experience and areas of expertise include: global distribution, based on on-the-ground market research in more than 20 countries; organic and inorganic business strategy, including mergers and acquisitions; asset gathering in the U.S. retail, professional buyer, and institutional arenas; and strategic growth initiatives for some of the world’s largest asset managers.

Ben is often quoted in mainstream and industry publications and frequently delivers key presentations at leading industry conferences in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia. He also has primary responsibility for overseeing Casey Quirk's content-related initiatives, building on previous experience developing seminal industry white papers and thought leadership publications.

Ben earned M.B.A. degrees from Columbia University and the London Business School. He holds a B.S. in journalism, summa cum laude, from Boston University.
